Cozy Nesting Boxes by Cozy Nest Design

I have been busy doing some pattern testing over the last couple of weeks. Over the next week or so, I'll share some of the projects I have been working on.  Here is the first one I had fun doing.  It is not really a bag but some useful pretty boxes. The pattern is from Cozy Nest Design and is called Cozy Nesting Boxes.
The pattern contains instructions for 6 different boxes with lids. There are 3 rectangular boxes and 3 square boxes in graduated sizes. I made all 3 square boxes and the small rectangular box.

 The square boxes measure 4"W x 2 1/2"H x 4" D, 5"W x 3"H x 5"D and 6"W x 3 1/2"H x 6"D.

They are nesting boxes that fit inside of each other and are roomy inside.

The rectangular boxes come in 3 sizes as well, 6"W x 2"H x 3"D, 7"W x 2 1/2"H x 3 1/2"D, and
8"W x 3"H x 4"D. This is the small size.

I love testing for Sarah at Cozy Nest Design because she has some unique designs. Making these boxes was fun and a nice change from my usual bags.  The pattern is on sale through June 3, 2017. You can get the pattern here.

Ellen's Esplanade by Chris W Designs

I was thrilled to test this new Easy Street pattern, Ellen's Esplanade from Chris W Designs. Christine's patterns are always so thorough with lots of pictures to help along the way.  The Easy Street Series are bags that take less time than her regular patterns but still help you produce a bag that is very professional looking.  I'm so ready for summer weather that I had to get summery with my fabrics.  Here she is...

Ellen's Esplanade measures 15"W (at the top) x 11.5"H x 5.5"D.  There are seams in the front of the bag and in the back, but none on the sides.

There are very deep pockets on each side of the exterior to which the adjustable strap is attached.

Here is a side view of the pockets.

It is so roomy thanks to the boxed bottom. There is a zipper pocket on the inside.  If you need more pockets, Christine has a pocket supplement available that gives you a great set of pockets to add.

It closes with a recessed zipper.

You can see all of the testers' bags here.  You can purchase the pattern here. I think you will really love this one!

Cosmetic Bag Duo by Cozy Nest Design

I'm back again with another new Cozy Nest Design pattern.  This one is called the Cosmetic Bag Duo.  I love testing for Sarah at Cozy Nest and when she mentioned seat belt webbing again, I raised my hand high to test again.  I love this medium.

The Cosmetic Bag Duo includes directions for 2 sizes.  I made the large size which is 9.75"W x 7.5"H x 2.75"D.  The small has one less column of webbing and measures 7.75"W x 6.5"H x 2.25"D.

The pattern has a sale price of $4.50 until Feb 25, 2017.  You can find it here.  Sarah also sells webbing kits for this project and many other seat belt webbing patterns she has.  You can find the webbing kits for this project here.
Be sure to check out some of her other bags in the Seat Belt Series here.  I especially love the Market Tote.

Belinda Bag by Cozy Nest Designs

Wow, it is hard to believe that I haven't posted in 6 months.  I have continued to sew...it is my therapy. I have been testing some new patterns, some that I can share shortly and some that will take a while to appear.  So let me show you the first test bag I can show.

I have to say that I love testing for Sarah from Cozy Nest Design because I can always be sure that her bags will be unique and fun.  Not to mention that the pattern itself will be thorough and easy to understand. Remember the Seat Belt Bags I have done...yep those were Sarah's.

Here is the newest bag from Cozy Nest Design...The Belinda Bag.  Here are the fabrics I chose to go with. The solid brown is a textured faux leather.  That was used for the flap and strap. The second gray and brown fabric is a quilting cotton and it was used for the exterior bag fabric.  The two-toned brown fabric is also a quilting cotton and was used for the lining.

This pattern comes in two sizes, a small that measures  11" x 9.5" x 4" and a large that measures  13" x 11" x 4.25".  I chose to make the small size.

The only change I made to the pattern was increase the strap length so it can be worn as a cross body.

The inside has a zippered pocket. The small bag is the perfect size for just the essentials.

The Belinda Bag pattern is on sale for $5 until Feb. 14, 2017.  You can get the pattern, get more info and see all of the tester bags here.

Seat Belt Market Tote from Cozy Nest Designs

It was time for me to test another Seat Belt Bag from Sarah at Cozy Nest Designs, and I was thrilled.  I loved the Crossbody Bag and Wallet I made from her seat belt line but this one is my favorite.  It is the Seat Belt Market Tote and it comes in 3 sizes with options to do them in a striped pattern or block pattern. I decided to make the small tote, not once, but twice.  I did one in a block pattern and one in a striped pattern.  The other sizes are on my to do list.

This small tote measures 14"W x 9.5"H x 3.75" D .  The medium sized tote is 15.5"W x 11"H x 3.75"D   and would have one additional strip of seat belt added to the top of the small size.  The large is 17"W x 13"H x 3.75"D and would have 2 additional strips of seat belt added to the small. The tote on the left is done in a block format and uses the colors snow, periwinkle and dark periwinkle.  The tote on the right is a striped format and it uses the colors yellow, copper and chocolate brown.  The big ring is attached to a flap that provides great bling for this bag.

The top of the bag has a zippered closure to keep everything secure.

The front of the bag has 2 slip pockets for your phone and keys.

The back of the bag has a contrast strip that becomes the flap on the front.

The inside of the bag has a zippered pocket.

Sarah has the webbing and ring available as a kit for all 3 sizes and in 1, 2 or 3 color combinations in the striped or block format.  Until July 20, 2016, she is selling the pattern at a discounted price of $5.00 and is offering her Tri-fold Seat Belt Wallet pattern for $5.00, too, so you can make a matching wallet.

Trust me,  this is a great bag to make.  It is so fun using seat belts for that unique look. The webbing is easy to sew and Sarah's patterns at Cozy Nest Designs are so concise, easy to read and follow.  You can get the pattern here. You can also see all of the bag sizes compared to each other and some sample bags.  Don't miss this opportunity.  Sarah just got some great new colors of seat belt webbing.  But save me some webbing,  I have more of these to make!
